The Best Use of FFXIV Gil
Having a good amount of Gil gives you a lot of flexibility in the game. It allows you to easily port around the world, buy catch-up gear for content you aren’t yet ready for or stockpile consumables. There are a few great ways to make Gil in ffxiv gil, the easiest of which is through duty roulettes and completing Leve quests. You can also kill monsters and sell their materials for a decent amount of money.
Crafting
In FFXIV, crafting is one of the best ways to make gil. It allows players to easily keep up with their gear needs and be able to buy the latest equipment and consumables, which is great if a player is focusing on a high-end combat job or pugging EX trials.
However, it's important to remember that crafting also requires a large amount of time and effort on top of leveling the crafter profession itself, which can be an issue for some players. In addition to crafting, completing leve quests is another great way to earn Gil as they are often very lucrative. Additionally, a player can make a good amount of Gil from selling items on the market board. This is especially true during the first few weeks after a new patch as materials are in high demand due to the lack of other sellers. A player can also make a decent amount of Gil from gathering.
Raids
Having a large amount of Gil gives the player many options. They can buy catchup gear to easily get into raids, stock up on consumables for high-end content and even buy needed mounts for dungeons.
Gil is obtained from battles (the amount varies depending on the mission) and other activities such as completing Guildleves, taking part in errands and buying rumors in the Tavern. Additionally, humanoid enemies will sometimes drop gil in small amounts and treasure caskets are scattered throughout the world that contain a set amount of gil once opened.
Players can also sell items on the Market Board, though this is not an ideal way to make a lot of gil and requires some effort to compete with other players. Being a crafter is the most consistent method for making a good amount of gil, but this entails entering the undercutting war on the marketplace and can be time consuming.
Retainer Ventures
Retainers can undertake different types of ventures, which send them into the world to procure items. Some of these can even reward rare and exclusive minions, furnishings, mounts, and crafting materials. These can then be sold on the market board for a decent amount of Gil.
Retainer ventures are timed using real-world hours, so they'll take a while to complete. However, you can cancel them without losing a reward. You can also purchase a number of leveling boosts from the mog station that can speed up the process.
Retainers can only undertake certain types of ventures based on their job and level. For example, a retainer that is assigned to a job that has an expedition vocation will only be able to undertake expeditions. These are typically more profitable than quick explorations and can yield a large number of Tomestones and gold. The type of loot a retainer procures will depend on their level and equipped gear.
Duty Roulettes
Introduced in patch 2.1, Duty Roulette is an activity that allows players to participate in randomized duties. Each day, Duty Roulette will award the player with a combination of experience, Allagan Tomestones and Grand Company Seals. The amount of Allagan Tomestones awarded is determined by the player's level, type of duty and job at the time of the queue.
The types of duties available in the roulette vary with each update to the game, and can include Expert, Level 90 Dungeons, Level 50/60/70/80 Light Party Dungeons, Trials, Main Scenario, Guildhests, Alliance Raids, and Frontline PvP. Each day that the player completes a duty, they will be paid a salary of gil.
This salary is not only a good source of money, but it also unlocks other ways to earn gil in the game. These other methods include Treasure Maps, buying rumors in the tavern, and taking part in errands. As a bonus, the player is given a Commendation after each battle - this usually goes to the tank or healer in the party.
